Some time ago, a rumor hit the media saying that the founder of Amazon and one of the richest people in the world, owns the hyper-luxury yacht “Flying Fox”, which is worth USD 400 million. Oh yeah… but no. The Flying Fox is indeed worth what I wrote, but it is not owned by Jeff Bezos. It is managed by the Imperial Yacht company, which charter such wonders to people with sufficiently thick wallets (renting this yacht for a week will cost you around USD 4 million). Today I invite you for a quick tour of the “Flying Fox”.
“Flying Fox” flies fast and in style
A cinema, a 13-meter swimming pool, 2 heliports – designed by Espen Oeino and built in 2019 by the Lurssen shipyard, the yacht screams luxury. Its annual maintenance costs about USD 15 million. It’s enough to mention that the “Flying Fox” captain earns around USD 450,000 a year, and the main mechanic as much as USD 150,000 a year. Most of the crew are former British Armed Forces.
Its specs is breathtaking: being over 140 meters long and 22.5 meters wide, the yacht can accelerate up to 20 knots (37 km/h), although its comfortable “cruising speed” is 15 knots. It is the 18th largest yacht in the world with room for 22 passengers and 55 crew members.
All cabins are furnished with great taste and the master suite on the top deck has its own jacuzzi and sun deck.
Equipment: no room for boredom
The “Flying Fox” offers plenty of space for guests to indulge in sweet doing nothing on its 6 decks. Cinema, swimming pool, bar, gym… In addition, you can also take advantage of some cool sea attractions: jet skis, hoverboards, kayaks, and even … a mini submarine. There’s also kite-surfing gear and even some Vespa scooters.
One can also take advantage of some diving lessons from the best instructors and see the most beautiful underwater worlds with his / her own eyes. You can spend a nice time in the spa, where relaxation, care and beauty treatments await. For lovers of extreme temperatures, there is a cryotherapy sauna, which has a temperature of -40C in the “vestibule”, and -82C in the proper chamber. It’s the perfect place to cool your body down after an intense workout.
Would you like to spend a few days on such a yacht?
