Nusr-Et restaurant: the best Turkish butcher!

I haven’t written anything about perfect food for a long time, so today I take the Nusr-Et restaurant as wallpaper. I visited it on my current trip to Dubai and I must admit that I am very impressed. It is a real paradise on earth for all lovers of the best meat (which I also belong to), so before I write something more, I recommend this place to you right away because it’s really worth it. But first things first.

Nusret Gökçe: the man who loves good meat

Nusret Gökçe, known as Salt Bae, is a Turkish butcher, chef and restaurateur of Kurdish origin. Born in a family with many children, he had to help his parents from an early age. Therefore, as a teenager, he dropped out of school and started working as an assistant to an Istanbul butcher.

His nickname – Salt Bae – came from the (rather unusual) way that salty meat. In one of the videos, the salt from his fingertips first lands on his forearm and then on the meat. This is how he presented in one of the many materials he recorded with the graceful title “Ottoman Steak”.

Nusret owns a chain of restaurants serving excellent meat dishes. His restaurants are, among others, in his hometown of Istanbul, Ankara, Doha, Miami or New York, and its thresholds are often crossed by the mighty of this world, celebrities and sportsmen – for example Neymar, Leonardo DiCaprio or Puff Daddy. Nusr-Et is a boutique concept-steakhouse that distinguishes not only with food, but also excellent service.

Nusr-Et: menu

During my visit to the restaurant, I had the opportunity to taste one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. As a side-dish, I chose a salad – perfect, as it turned out. Of course, the menu also includes many other dishes: from appetizers such as tartare or beef carpaccio, through six types of lettuce, to delicious meats – asado, entrecote, even amazing steaks, but also lamb, burgers and sucuk. There are also typical Turkish sweets: baklava or sobiyet.

My impressions

I wrote it at the very beginning, but I will repeat it again: this is a place that I would recommend without hesitation to every meat lover, but also to those who do not like meat. The approach to the product and respect for it, unmatched service and surprising connections are the strength of this place. Nusret’s personality is also important – open and crazy. You can feel his passion and dedication to good food at every step.
